Para-Text Fabric is a high-quality, heavy-weight aramid blend protective fabric designed to protect equipment and personnel in a variety of applications. By using a blend of aramid fibers, Para-Text Fabric is able to provide higher levels of performance while remaining flexible, lightweight and structurally stable over a wide operating temperature range.
Common applications include safety clothing, expansion joints, pyrotechnics, hose covers, conveyor belts, cable protection, pipe wrapping, equipment protection and thermal containment. Advanced composite blends supported by meta-aramid, para-aramid and continuous filament glass fibers provide long-lasting performance in hazardous applications and are non-irritating when used in safety apparel.
These fibers are produced by a dry jet wet spinning process, resulting in fibers composed of fully extended liquid crystal chains formed along the fiber axis with a high degree of crystallinity, which increases the strength of the fibers. The manufactured strength of para-aramid fiber is about 23g/den and the elongation at break is about 3.5%.
